About ST. AUGUSTINE
Mrs. E. Gasper’s dream of creating and nurturing a school catering to all communities with a special focus on the Anglo-Indian community, was fulfilled by her husband, Late Mr. C.R. Gasper who founded and pioneered the St. Augustine’s Day group of schools, with a humble beginning in Kolkata at 43 Ripon Street in 1970. He also expanded with two additional campuses in Shyamnagar in 1975 and Barrackpore 1985.

The journey was not an easy one, every hurdle seemed more difficult than the other to overcome. The primary incentive and motivation to move on was the aspiration of nurturing little Indians to capable and responsible ‘‘Global Citizens’’ who would reshape the destiny of their nation. Courage, faith endurance, determination and above all vision helped Mr. C.R. Gasper to surmount all obstacles and turn the dreams into reality.

We here at St. Augustine’s Day School consider the School as the second home for the students and so the teachers are foster parents for every child in the School. This Student’s Diary provides all the necessary information about the school and its functioning in the first few pages of this diary. We encourage all parents and students to be familiar with this information. Further, this Diary is one of the means of day-to-day communication between you and the school on important matters concerning your ward. It is a tool to track what is being taught in school and whether your ward is progressing at an acceptable pace. inculcate in them a sense of happiness and belonging since this is essential to their future success. Our state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated staff enable us to deliver our curriculum in an environment that is intimate, friendly and attuned to every specific educational need. Here, Co-Curricular Activities are treated at par with academics and students are nurtured to achieve all-around excellence.
